Book DescriptionOn a battlefield in Vietnam, a Valkyrie reaches to take a dying soldier to Valhalla, and he refuses. They make a deal that allows him to stay on earth until a woman tells him she loves him or he dies naturally of medical complications. A meddling demi-goddess takes an interest in the dying soldier and gives him an enchanted dog for company, then sets out to find him a cure. The dog digs up buried mob loot initiating a mad cross-country chase. With the mob and the crooked police chief in hot pursuit, the veteran fights back, and, if that isn?t enough, the goddess, who happens to be a daughter of Hern, the Mighty Hunter, a most dangerous man, leaps across the forbidden abyss to be with her soldier.
