This text focuses on internal management contracts. It includes contributions analyzing the economic, political, legal, historical and cultural contexts in which such contracts are being implemented. Its particularity lies in devising an approach that is international, pluridisciplinary and also truly comparative. Moreover, it seeks to broach those sometimes-neglected sectors and issues, at least at the international level, such as the role of trade unions, professional associations and local authorities, as well as relationships among stakeholders and trust. Although based on European countries, including Germany, Denmark, France, Northern Ireland, the UK and Sweden, the research presented herein extends to New Zealand, Canada and the USA.
