Earmarks and Grants are the subject of many debates over how the Government spends taxpayers' money, and that makes them a very hot topic, especially around election time. Part 1 of this book talks about how in 2004 I started working for the Inland Northwest Space Alliance, or INSA, an off-shoot of The University of Montana in Missoula, Montana, and witnessed first-hand the meteoric rise and fall of INSA which ended in ethics audits, media scrutiny, criminal investigations and the disgraceful fall of long-term Senator Conrad Burns'. But it didn't end there. In the second part of the book, I chronicle a??The Gooda?? that happened after I moved on from INSA to see the good that could come out of earmarks and grants through my continued work with NASA and a new project with the National Science Foundation.
