Drake is a young man who has gone all his life without knowing his father- in fact he thought he was dead, and has used the lack of fatherly guidance as an excuse to do what he wants and generally be a trickster. But when he gets a letter from his dad saying that not only is he alive, he wants Drake to work with him, Drake becomes determined to find out why the man left his mother alone to raise him by himself. With his best friend Calron, Tress, the mysterious man who has been shunned from their society, and the runt of the litter, Layden, he goes on a journey to find his dad and give him hell. But will his father's manipulative ways get to him, too?
