15-year-old Abby Byrd lives near a small town on the Oregon coast, yet even in this remote area her life is controlled by the Nationals who have taken over the government. Punished for standing up to her abusive teachers at school, she seeks the only escape left to her: alien abduction. Her friends think she's crazy, but to her surprise, an alien arrives. To her horror, he's a fierce warrior who seeks to kill her. She escapes by stealing the spaceship, but soon finds herself the target of not only the alien who wants his ship back, but the Nationals who tracked the spaceship and want it for their own evil purposes. Abby's friends try to help but only make things worse. When an attractive teen alien arrives to rescue his uncle (the warrior), Abby hopes to persuade him to save her friends and fight the Nationals.
