When Ms. Fitzpatrick calls to ask if third-grader Abby and her little sister Tess will pet-sit Prissy, Abby hears barking in the background. Could this be Abby's dream come true? A real live puppy to look after and cuddle for three whole days? But it turns out that Prissy is no ordinary pet. When strange things start to happen around Ms. Fitzpatrick's house, Tess claims that Prissy wields magical powers. Abby thinks Tess is full of hogwash and is determined to find a logical explanation. But as things go from weird to weirder, even Abby begins to wonder.
