This book has already been published with a Full Color Interior under the same title. I wanted this book to be available for under $10, but publishing costs for full color were higher than that in some of the marketing areas requiring that I have a higher list price. Publishing the book with the interior in black and white will lower the cost of publication, but does not allow the reader to view the pictures in the clarity that color photos offer. The contents of the book were compiled over a deployment to Afghanistan from Autumn 2007 to late Winter 2008. The letters to those back home are intended to give a day to day view of life in the military while deployed. I was deliberately vague about military missions and events for security reasons. I present my view of life and beliefs during this deployment as a window for others to see what life is like for a few of us in Uniform who have served over the years.
