In 1153 Fnlbert was succeeded by his son Petrim; who took the surname Pollok from the estate which he inherited. In 1440 Sir Robcrt de Pollok, a "younger son" of the family, illheritell an Irish estate and relllovcd to Ireland. By common usage the Hamc of this branch was soon Colltractd into Polk. Sometime between 168.0 and 1687 "Robert Bruce Polk, or Pollok, second son of Sir Robert H, left Ireland with his wife, six sons, and two daughters, and settled in Somerset County, Iaryland.
