The water on the floor removed the heavy poly finish right down to the bare wood, a veneer vanity in perfect condition rippled and became unglued in various places, the edges loosened and buckled up on the rest of the furniture, the mirror was covered with droplets of water, the calendar on the wall curled up so that the month was invisible, the walls glistened when any light hit the moisture that had formed on the surface, and green mold formed in the corners of the room. Paul asked a psychiatrist what to do....
