This story starts on a normal day in the heart of a Rutland village. We all know a place we call home, and Rutland to me is that place. Oakham, to be precise. A place I arrived at when I was 15 years old. My Father was in the Royal Air Force, based at RAF North Luffenham, when I first saw my beloved Rutland over forty years ago. I vowed I would never leave. To me, it's the only place to be. Having said that, I found myself leaving a few times, but always with a ticket to return home not very far away.
