It is the culmination of my life experiences up until this point in my life. More than poetry, this book represents my passion: my passion for people of African descent to understand their past and use it as a tool for self empowerment; and my desire for all of humanity to realize that so much more could be achieved as a people if we would only take the same energy we expend on hate and use that to improve understanding.
