The Emergency Department Technician was created to train students to work in an entry-level position in a hospital Emergency Department or Urgent Care Center. Aspiring allied healthcare workers learn what it means to be a part of the emergency medical team; Basic Life Support Skills; and latest equipment and techniques. Other topics include admitting procedures; vital signs; safety considerations; proper record keeping; and how to communicate with patients to provide efficient, and compassionate care.
