Songs of Petroleum tells Jan Lundberg's life story as a successful oil industry analyst who turned his back on fame and fortune to join the grassroots environmental movement. His childhood included 4 1/2 years' sailing halfway around the world with his family. Despite the advantages and privilege he and his family enjoyed, greed and elder abuse struck from within and resulted in tragedy. Jan's life of adventure was already interesting enough and a big challenge, but his having to cope with criminal actions and corruption made for hardship as well as enlightenment about a culture in need of fundamental change.
