This is not a how-to book or a book about Photoshop. There are many very good textbooks available that will show the ins and outs of Adobe Photoshop, and how to use Photoshop to perfection. They will show you how to color manage your workflow, how to work with channels and layers, and how to do just about anything. This book is more of a why book-why things work the way they do. It will give you insight into how to control your exposure at the camera level so you do not have to make drastic changes in Photoshop. Photoshop is a wonderful tool, but it won't tell you how to get the best possible set of tones at the time of exposure with the zone system. This book will tell you how. I hope you enjoy this book and you will walk away with a complete knowledge of the zone system and you will learn how to use it. Jack M.
