This textbook can be used in either an introductory or intermediate course in economic geography. It differs markedly from most of the economic geography textbooks available today in terms of its theoretical orientation and the level of analytical rigour in its presentation. William P. Anderson has produced a book that is the first to reconcile traditional 'cultural' approaches with the 'new' economic geography, spatial economics and path dependency as applied to location theory and urban systems. It should therefore be suitable for students of all levels and abilities and is fully in tune with what is new and happening in this burgeoning field.
