This story is dedicated to the memory of the people of Sophia-town and old Cato Manor. It is also dedicated to those who passed through pain and humiliation at the hands of the security police and were willing to talk about it. Sam Bhengu is fictitious, as are all the other people in this story, the only exceptions being historical figures like Nelson Mandela and Beyers Naude. Their personal characteristics and circumstances, together with the events described, apart from historical events such as the Cato Manor riot, are all products of the writer's imagination. This story is not derived from a knowledge of actual incidents or real people. The dialogue also is wholly fictitious.
