This novel centers on the figure of Jesus Aguirre, former priest, doctor in theology, and prominent intellectual. He was the head of Editorial Taurus, a member of the Real Academia de la Lengua, and of Bellas Artes de San Fernando, but he is perhaps most recognized for being the consort of the Duchess of Alba. Written in first person, in the manner of literary fiction, this is also a chronicle of the generations that occupied the political and social spheres from the post-war era to the beginning of the twentyfirst century.
