George Bickford (9 January 1927 - c. 29 November 2009) was an Australian rules football player. Bickford was a member of the Melbourne premiership team in 1948 and was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne. Australian rules football, officially known as Australian football, also called football, footy or Aussie rules (and in some regions called-erroneously-AFL, after the Australian Football League, the only fully professional Australian rules football league) is a sport played between two teams of 22 players (18 on the field, and four interchanges) on either an Australian rules football ground, a modified cricket field or another modified sports venue.
