Bruce Calverley (born 21 January 1918, date of death unknown) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Prior to establishing himself in the VFL he won the 1938 Gardiner Medal for the best player in the reserves competition. He played 89 games for Fitzroy, the most important being in the 1944 Grand Final win where he played on the wing. Australian rules football, officially known as Australian football, also called football, footy or Aussie rules (and in some regions calleda??erroneouslya??AFL, after the Australian Football League, the only fully professional Australian rules football league) is a sport played between two teams of 22 players (18 on the field, and four interchanges) on either an Australian rules football ground, a modified cricket field or another modified sports venue.
