Nicolae Claudiu Stanciu (born 7 May 1993 in Craiva, Alba County) is a Romanian footballer who plays for Liga I club SC Vaslui and the Romania U-21 national team. A right-sided or central creative midfielder, Stanciu made his Unirea Alba Iulia debut aged just 15 years and 18 months in May 2008, coming on as a substitute in a 4-1 home league win over Corvinul Hunedoara. During his spell for Unirea Alba Iulia, Stanciu was tracked by various European clubs, including TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Celtic Glasgow, Brescia Calcio or VfB Stuttgart.
