Roland Sandberg (born 16 December 1946 in Karlskrona) is a former Swedish footballer.He started his career at Swedish club Atvidabergs FF, and moved to German club 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 1973. During his four years there he played 118 matches and scored 61 goals. He also played 37 matches and scored 15 goals for the Sweden national football team from 1969 to 1976, including scoring two goals in the 1974 FIFA World Cup. The 1974 FIFA World Cup, the tenth staging of the World Cup, was held in West Germany (including West Berlin ) from 13 June to 7 July. The tournament marked the first time that the current trophy, the FIFA World Cup Trophy, created by the Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga, was awarded.
