He won a silver medal in the four-man event at the 1996 FIBT World Championships in Calgary. The FIBT World Championships 1996 took place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for a second time, hosting the event previously in 1992 (Skeleton). It marked the first time the bobsleigh and skeleton competition took place in the same location at the championships since 1982. The FIBT World Championships, part of the Federation Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing (FIBT - International Bobsleigh and Tobogganing Federation in (French)), have taken place on an annual basis in non-Winter Olympic years since 1930.
