Doriva, full name Dorival Guidoni Jr. (born May 28, 1972 in Nhandeara, SA?o Paulo) is a recently retired Brazilian football midfielder, who last played for AmA©rica-SP in the Brazilian league, after a spell playing for Middlesbrough. Prior to joining to Middlesbrough, Doriva played for SA?o Paulo, AtlA©tico Mineiro, Porto, Sampdoria, and Celta Vigo. He was part of the Brazil squad at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. In his first full season at Middlesbrough, Doriva was first choice in midfield alongside George Boateng. He found his chances limited after this, however, due to the emergence of Stewart Downing and the conversion of Boudewijn Zenden to central midfield. His only goal for Middlesbrough came in a 2a??1 victory at Notts County in the third round of the FA Cup on 8 January 2005.
