Book DescriptionLife immediately after September 11, 2001 was dreadful and hopeless for many people and families who lost loved ones, as well as for everyone all over the world. It began a long process of trying to reconcile and rationalize what and how it happened. Some will never have sufficient answers. From Darkness into Light originated out of the feelings immediately after the violence and continued through a long process, eventually leading to feelings of joy and appreciation for our resilience and for what we still believe and hold true. Love, hope, forgiveness, and simple acts of kindness were the building blocks leading the book to its end. Even though the loss was difficult, a process of healing and unity began, and people all over the world began to think of themselves as the human race instead of a culture or nationality. This book of poetry is about that human resilliance that cannot be defeated, even in the darkest of times.
