Andrew Bailey was an American on a business trip to China via Hong Kong when he was arrested at the Hong Kong International Airport for money laundering, a charge which if convicted, carries a prison sentence of 3 to 14 years. In three different court appearances he was continuously denied bail and remanded in prison custody for 77 days at the notorious Lai Chi Kok prison in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Eventually he was released on bail at his fourth appearance only to spend another 57 days in house arrest while he was waiting to go on trial. Hell in Hong Kong is the story of 134 days of torture, misery, hopelessness, fear, desperation, freedom, and triumph of the human spirit.
