This book argues for the approach to thinking about thinking by looking at communication and cognition, or "commognition." She argues for this approach by using examples from mathematical education and human development. The explanatory power of commognitive framework and the manner in which it contributes to our understanding of human development is illustrated through analysis of mathematical discourse accompanied by vignettes from mathematics classrooms.
