This is the ninth in a 34-part series of books telling the story of Monkey, adapted from the ancient Chinese fantasy novel Journey to the West. In the previous volume the Tang Priest foolishly sent Monkey to the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit. Without him the Tang Priest soon fell into the clutches of the Yellow Robe Monster, who was too powerful for Pig and Friar Sand. They had to ask Monkey to help rescue their master. Lotus-Flower Cave, illustrated by 70 colour pictures, tells what happens when the Tang Priest and his disciples arrive at Flat-Top Mountain. The Tang Priest, Pig and Friar Sand are captured by Gold Horn and Silver Horn. Monkey subdues the two demon kings by stealing their three treasures. After returning the treasures to the Supreme Lord Lao Zi, the pilgrims continue their journey to the West to fetch the scriptures.
