This book contains more than enough material for a one-year course in probability and statistics. The mathematical requirements for the course are knowledge of the elements of calculus and a familiarity with the concepts and elementary properties of vectors and matrices. No previous knowledge of probability or statistics is assumed. The book has been written with both the student and the teacher in mind. Theorems and proofs are presented where appropriate, and illustrative examples are given at almost every step of the way.
