In a short working phase from 1918 to 1921, Alexander Rodchenko realized three series of extraordinary three-dimensional compositions. These were the non-objective sculptures of Assembled and Disassembled, the spatial objects entitled On the Principle of Equal Forms and the spatial constructions or Series of Equal Forms. Forms do not only have a painterly, but also an almost constructional relationship with one another. The entire structure folds up like a folding chair.
