"Grosz loved France and Italy. He visited both countries several times and wished he со have spent his last years in France. A wish though he couldn't fulfill: he in fact died Berlin in 1959 after his return from the USA. What a happy chance then, that an exhibition of Grosz's works is organized at the French Academy in Rome, and for the occasion a monograph is published. This wouldn't have been possible without the help and collaboration of many people. Thank you first of all to Richard Peduzzi, director of Villa Medici, for his will and car obtaining the exhibition.
