Mark Twain (1835—1910) was an American writer, journalist, and publisher. Among his most famous novels are "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and its sequel, "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." Most of his finest work includes many genres such as humor, satire, and philosophical fiction. "The American Claimant" is an unusual novel that mixes science fiction, romance, fantasy, and political satire. It is a comedy of mistaken identities and paradoxes like an American falling in love with British aristocracy and a British earl being fascinated by American democracy.
