A school is about to collapse. The director gets a bag of money from the mayor. He calls the contractor and asks him to build a new school. "Make it beautiful!" He exclaims over the phone. But is that such a good idea...? Fortunately, the children are still there. Maaike Poog (1967) is employed as a teacher at a primary school in Harlingen. She is also active as an artist. In 2007 she was third in a national painting competition. The Golden Opportunity is her first picture book.
