Occlusion is one of the critical factors for long term success of dental implant. The lack of proprioceptive receptor in osseo-intergrated implants, is one of the major reasons for over loading and subsequent crestal bone loss. A proper occlusal scheme can eliminate the tensional and shear stresses developed at the implant bone interface under masticatory load and can lengthen the longevity of the implant prosthesis. However the immediate and early loading of dental implant helps to develop a strong implant bone interface with mature laminar type of bone.
