The purpose of this book is to identify and understand the processes involved in the development of the coaching field in general and to explore sports coaches’ development in terms of their education, qualifications and experiences. In order to gather the data, the field study involved travel to different countries to experience different types of coach education programs. The current research book into coach education was underpinned by globalization theory and was undertaken in two parts. First, an empirical investigation across Oman (as a main case) was conducted through which the realities, problems, needs and strategic ideas from those currently working in a sports coach capacity were identified.
