The story, a black adult comedy, is set in August Bank Holiday- cum- Gala weekend. Various happenings, occur during Friday and Saturday, 1977. Scary, Cold War days. Plus, The Pill. The setting is a tough, northern boom town, and workers from far and wide signing Official Secrets Act. Plus an American Airbase, aka 1943-45 war. (over sexed, over here, etc!) Poker big attraction! Those were different days, when a man had to do etc etc. Some women are wild & woolly like the times. Various original colourful, (hopefully) characters behave in various outlandish circumstances. Good guys finish on top, bad guys get come-uppance. The King, (Elvis) had recently died, too tragic to dwell on.
