When Captain Amara Trysdell is sent home on medical leave, her world turns upside down. Shortly after arriving, her guardian and brother are attacked by blood magic. When her guardian recovers he reveals to her the long hidden prophecies responsible for the attack. Faced with the possibility of another attack killing her brother, Amara agrees to be his bodyguard on his quest to find the last-born dragon who may not even exist.
