There is murder most foul taking place on the Cherokee Indian land in western North Carolina. The mystery deepens as a young female investigator searches for the truth. The Cherokee have many legends that offer a glimpse into the mind-set of the tribe. One such story is of two wolves that reside inside people. Could this story provide an answer to the mystery? Rose Martin, a college graduate and professional criminal investigator, had moved back to her hometown and opened her own business. Her father, at his death from a hunting accident, had left her the family home. At a time in her life when things finally seemed to be coming together for her, a murder is discovered up in the hills of the Snowbird Mountains. As Rose begins to investigate this heinous crime, she finds herself embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse in her effort to uncover the truth. While working on the case, she also explores her feelings toward a man she thought she knew.
