Mathew Masters, a library researcher, at the New York Public library uncovers something terrible. Assigned a project dealing with World War II, he discovers a dark secret from his own past. Mathew comes out of his reclusive shell turning to Gwen. She is his first real relationship and Gwen becomes his salvation. Matt confronts his father with her support.
