When we are wronged in life, we cling to the things that bring us great comfort. We immerse ourselves in activities, as well as places, that give us the greatest possible measure of joy. It's not that we don't have people around us that we can trust, but we just feel more comfortable with our unfortunate experience remaining in secret. We are programmed to believe that these activities and places, rather than people, are truly where we can experience a greater trust, and trust is all that we care about when we are in a state of immediate recovery regarding such an unfortunate event in our lives. For Michael Barrow, baseball became that sanctuary of trust following his experience in first grade. Michael engrossed himself within the game of baseball. As the years passed after childhood, Michael began to wonder what it really was all of those years, that ultimately kept him from falling apart, but as his faith in God began to grow in adulthood, the answer became evident.
