One night, as I was sitting around with my family talking about life, my sister Patty said, "Are people really that crazy?" After you read this, I am sure you will say yes. In the mid-1980s, I left the safety of Decatur, Illinois, and moved to Gainesville, Florida, and that is where I really learned the meaning of life. Yep, the veil of innocence that protected me from the bright light of the harsh realities of life was lifted. Shock turned into really, then finally the realization that it was time to grow up. I had many good times and quite a few hard times, but I survived, and a new outlook on life took hold. I am back home and happily married to my wonderful wife, Mary-Jo, with two mischievous dogs who make my life great. With everything I have been through, I finally decided to put pen to paper and share the humors of my life, as seen through my eyes.
