The church is broken, fragmented, fighting itself. The body of Christ is suffering from self-inflicted wounds. Why should Satan shoot at the church when the church is doing it to itself? In Like a Flood, one sees what can happen when, in spite of glaring differences among churches, the body of Christ loves all its members as Christ loves them. If churches are Christlike, they will love the rest of the body of Christ. The church does not have to be defeated.
