Jim Sawyer lost his LAPD detective badge when he was disabled by a gunshot wound to the back. Now he might lose his chaplain's badge by shooting himself in the foot. His plastic ID badge read chaplain, not detective, and he was disobeying doctor's orders and violating L. A. County Jail regulations by going back out in the streets to investigate the murder charge against an inmate in his jail. That inmate was the Reverend Michael Kline, a manipulative, self-promoting church pastor who was guilty of many immoral and illegal things, but he might actually have been innocent of murder.
