Topeka and The Dakota Aquifer is a glib if not jaundiced parity of our energy addicted, profit motivated culture which is about to destroy the pure, life sustaining, glacial freshwater reservoir called the Dakota Aquifer. Readers of Topeka say they laugh till they cried out loud. The author hoped it would be quite the reverse. A Sumerian god, disguised as a stray dog, leads a pack of miscreants dental hygienists from Topeka into the aquifer's labrynth in order to foil a ghoul from poisoning it beyond human consumption. Topeka represents the ""everyman"" of our contemporary culture. Though in truth, it could have been just as easily Wichita.
