Each chapter of The Last Dad begins with a story about Mildred, a single mom, and her son Louie. The first dad abandoned them when Mildred was 7 ? months pregnant. The second dad enforced his rules with a bullwhip. Mother and son spent years looking for the next dad. Finally, they discovered the best dad was there all of the time. At the end of each chapter the grown-up Louie added Reflections, looking back at life lessons they learned. They are practical and scriptural. His deepest hope is that you will become better acquainted with the Last Dad and that you will find a few simple, life-changing truths. After Reflections he added Questions to Consider, hoping the questions would provoke you to thought, dialogue, prayer, and then, discovery.
