Barbara E. Robinson was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania in 1936 and attended schools there and in Philadelphia. She is a mother and grandmother and spent the majority of her adult life in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she raised her children, and later in Noblesville, Indiana. Her interest in the Tabernacle began after doing research on the subject for a presentation at a church retreat. Volunteering in the "Young Life" ministry brought her to visit Tabernacle Presbyterian Church or, as it is better known, "TAB." It was their outstanding contribution to their inner city neighborhood and their children's community-wide sports program that influenced her to become a member. After joining TAB her interest in the Tabernacle in the Wilderness grew and eventually led to her leading a class on the subject.
