Teacher Emily Davis spent her summer vacation from school searching for people and places to inspire her reluctant students. She found inspiration in the culture of Native Americans which was envisioned by a Native American in Wisconsin. Thus began Emily's INDIAN SUMMER. Over the course of weeks, she had many encounters with Native Americans which finally led to a lifethreatening episode in the fictional town of Kangee, South Dakota. She was rescued by the Tribal Policeman, a Native American, who Emily realized would become much more than a friend. As INDIAN SUMMER ended, Emily was retelling her adventure to her best friend.
