G A Henty was a 19th century novelist, special correspondent and Imperialist. His best-known works are historical adventures. Under Drake's Flag is one of Henty's best adventure stories. It chronicles the life of young Ned Hearne at sea. In this 16th century story the young Ned travels with Francis Drake to unexplored lands. Ned is an eyewitness to the battle between the British and the Spanish Armada.
