Edward L. Stratemeyer (1862-1930) was an American publisher and writer of children's fiction. One of the most prolific writers in the world, Stratemeyer produced more than 1,300 books himself, and created many well-known juvenile series, including The Bobbsey Twins, Tom Swift, The Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew. The lesser known, 15-volume Dave Porter series was written exclusively by Edward Stratemeyer between 1905 and 1919 and featured "a typical American lad. full of life and vigor" and his many adventures around the world. This is the fourth volume in the series.
