A life-altering experience? Marcus certainly had one. It all starts when his younger brother is attacked by a monstrous creature in a Saint John graveyard one night. It is a horrifying encounter that leaves his brother on death's door. His cousin and grandmother also witness the attack, and it is his grandmother who then reveals the secret legacy of their family heritage. With his only brother slowly succumbing to a poison for which there is no earthly cure, Marcus and his cousin, Klay, must return to the graveyard and visit the grave of Okojim, an ancestor from another world. The grave is a portal to Mijoko, a land suffering under the sorcerous tyranny of an evil wizard who will stop at nothing to make his victory complete. There the boys will find a world of magic and wonder struggling for freedom, and it is there Marcus will have to seek the only cure that will save his brother's life.
