The book is a collection of poems dealing with various themes, emotions and mental states, the overarching, unifying idea being unmitigated desire. There is a languid aspect to unfulfilled expectations and thoughts that never seem to be appeased simply by ignoring them, and it allows an individual to experience both self-appreciation and self-loathing simultaneously. This is one of the hidden aspects, amongst many others, that longing tends to possess. It is the perpetual not knowing that makes desire and the desired unwitting partners in the same emotional struggle. The poems aspire to highlight these subtleties. Vasile Munteanu earned a B.A. and an M.A. degree in English from Oakland University in Michigan and a Ph.D. in Philosophy, Interpretation and Culture from State University of New York at Binghamton.
